The Chamber's August 2008 Monthly Massachusetts Jobs Update, released today, shows that Massachusetts added 1,700 jobs last month.
Other key findings include:
- Massachusetts posted 0.3% job growth over the last 12 months
- Four of 12 regions added jobs over the last 12 months
- Greater Boston and MetroWest regions grew fastest
- State remains 89,800 jobs below previous peak
- State construction industry jobs down 1.5% last 12 months; far outpaced national average and ranked 25th among states
