On Tuesday, May 11, State Treasurer Tim Cahill will adress the Chamber's Government Affairs Forum at the Boston Harbor Hotel.
Tim Cahill is the treasurer and receiver general for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. First elected in 2002, Cahill continues to manage the state’s finances by taking a fiscally conservative approach to investing and maximizing the use of taxpayer money. He has worked diligently to reform the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) which works with local communities to identify school facility needs, develop fiscally responsible solutions, and create safe, sound, and sustainable learning environments. Since its inception in 2004, the MSBA has made over $6.6 billion in payments to cities, towns, and regional school districts. Cahill has also worked to establish a Job Growth Initiative which has created 7,500 new jobs, and to return nearly $6.3 billion in Lottery local aid to cities and towns.
Prior to his current position, Cahill served as Norfolk County Treasurer and a Quincy City Councilor. He is a graduate of Boston University and a recipient of the 2007 Eisenhower Fellowship.
