Chamber announces 2010 Academy of Distinguished Bostonians inductees

The Greater Boston Chamber has announced the 2010 inductees into the Academy of Distinguished Bostonians. These outstanding leaders were selected for their significant contributions to the Greater Boston community and will be honored at the Chamber’s 101st Annual Meeting & Dinner on May 4 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. The 2010 inductees are:

• Henri Termeer, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Genzyme Corporation
• Regina Pisa, Chairman & Managing Partner, Goodwin Procter LLP
• Fletcher “Flash” Wiley, Counsel, Bingham McCutchen LLP & Principal, PRWT Services, Inc.

Attracting more than 1,000 business and government leaders, the Chamber’s Annual Meeting & Dinner is a signature event for the region and one of the single largest gatherings of the Greater Boston business community. The inductees will join a renowned group of current members of the Academy, including business leaders, philanthropists, governors, congressmen, cultural dignitaries, and sports greats. Henri Termeer is chairman and chief executive officer of Genzyme Corporation, one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies. Under his leadership, Genzyme has grown from a small start-up to a diversified enterprise with more than 12,000 employees in locations across the globe. Termeer is widely recognized as a pioneer in developing and delivering treatments to patients with rare genetic diseases.

Regina Pisa is chairman and managing partner of Goodwin Procter LLP, an international law firm with more than 900 attorneys. She is chairman of the firm’s Management and Executive Committees and oversees the Allocations Committee. Under Pisa’s management, the firm is dedicated to helping their clients manage risk, maximize opportunities, and move their business forward. Her practice primarily focuses on the financial services area, representing both banks and investment companies.

Fletcher “Flash” Wiley is attorney of counsel at Bingham McCutchen LLP, one of the nation’s largest law firms, and principal & chairman of the advisory board for PRWT Services, Inc., one of the fastest growing minority enterprises. A practicing attorney for more than two decades, Wiley has worked in the areas of corporate and commercial law, small business development, entertainment law, and real estate.
