ABC World News Anchor Charlie Gibson speaks at the Chamber’s Government Affairs Forum

Yesterday, ABC World News Anchor Charlie Gibson spoke to the Greater Boston Chamber’s Government Affairs Forum. After having spent much of his career working in the news industry, Gibson addressed the changes that have taken place in the media. He specifically spoke about networks that cover news to target niche audiences like MSNBC and Fox News – warning that the lack of objectivity could damage the future of the news business. Gibson also touched on his experience covering national politics for four decades, noting that the partisan nature of our current political system is prohibiting action. He referenced the Republican strong-hold against passing a health care reform bill under the Obama Administration, and some of the roadblocks instituted by liberals during the Bush Administration. Charlie Gibson’s vast amount of media and political knowledge attracted a crowd of over 200 Chamber members at the Mandarin Oriental Boston.
