Chamber to host Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate.

On Monday, October 26, 2009, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce will host the Democratic candidates for United States Senate.

Congressman Michael Capuano, Attorney General Martha Coakley, Alan Khazei, founder and CEO of Be the Change, Inc. and co-founder of City Year, and Steve Pagliuca, managing partner and co-owner of the Boston Celtics, are all running in the special election to replace Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

The four candidates are vying for the Democratic nomination in the primary election on December 8. The winner will face off against a Republican candidate and several independent candidates in the special election on January 19, 2010.

The forum on October 26 will be moderated by Bill Purcell, director of the Institute of Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  It will be the first in a series of special Government Affairs Forums election forums hosted by the Chamber.
