Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray announces state agreement with CSX at the Chamber's Government Affairs Forum

This morning, Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray addressed more than 200 Chamber members at the first Government Affairs Forum of the fall. He announced that the state has entered into an agreement with national freight carrier CSX to expand commuter rail services to Worcester, New Bedford, and Fall River. The Commonwealth will purchase the Worcester to Boston and New Bedford - Fall River lines to increase probability of additional commuter service. Lieutenant Governor Murray stated that the Administration is dedicated to improving both passenger and freight rail services for the long-term prosperity of the economy and environment.
