Chamber statement on charter school hearing.

The Chamber supports raising the cap on Charter Schools and expanding innovation via Readiness Schools. Education is the cornerstone of economic competitiveness. The Chamber strongly believes that in order to strengthen our future economy, Massachusetts must do more to strengthen public education. All of us – business leaders, teachers, civic and government leaders – need to do our part to make schools better. Charter schools are a key component of this effort. By lifting the cap on charters schools and promoting innovation in the classroom, we can expand the talent pipeline that will help sustain Greater Boston’s economy.
